Jim Steurnagel is CEO and Cofounder of Visional Productions. He started in the industry in 1995 when a teacher at SFSU thought he’d make a good hire booking tours. Soon after was a job in the archives with Bill Graham Presents which provided an endless supply of content for shows coming through northern California and sparked Jim's keen interest in visuals. Fun fact: this was back in the days of oils, slide projectors, and the video toaster!
Jim went on to cofound Rooftop productions, a small corporate AV company that thrived in the 90’s bay area startup climate. In the years that followed, he took a position as the lighting director followed by lead project manager for an AV company in Detroit, which took him on the road. Ready to spread out once again, he joined James Roman Productions in Las Vegas, and shortly after founded James Steurnagel Creative in 2010. Jim and Kyle met a few years later and found their creative visions aligned, and thus, Visional was born.
Jim spends most of his free time with a short family member that goes by daughter. He enjoys the views and trails in Colorado and when he can, he tries to get out to see some comedy and listen to live music. Red Rocks is at the top of his favorite venues.
